Ch9: Shredding Goldie

Ryo turned around to walk back to his friends, and had just enough time to duck under an oncoming fireball. "What in the-" Oh, wait, Giratina was angry. That was a perfectly good reason for fireballs to be flying over his head. Ryo decided to run along the nearest wall towards his friends, as dodging dozens of boulders wasn't his specialty.

Megan had picked up our Minun friend and also hugged the nearest wall. "What do we do now?" 

"Just wait a second!" Phenna was halfway to Giratina. 

She dodged boulder after boulder, unphased by the relentless barrage that was flying her way. More blue fireballs flew in her direction, missing her and blasting nearby rocks to dust. As she jumped off of a boulder and onto another, she noticed that yet another boulder was falling from above.

She jumped toward the boulder, her gauntlet finally forming. As she neared the boulder, Phenna held her gauntleted hand out. The claws of her gauntlet dug into the boulder. This boulder happened to be spinning very quickly, and Phenna took advantage of that. She let the spin of the boulder swing her forward, then she dislodged her gauntlet and jumped three or four times the distance she normally would.

It was during these acrobatics that Ryo began to notice just how beautiful Phenna really was. She moved with such grace as she jumped and ran. Her jumps were so precise, it seems like she planned them before hand. She never paused, even for a moment. Every time a new obstacle would get in her way, she would simply destroy it or adjust her path ever so slightly. She must have an incredible reaction time.

Then Ryo felt someone tackle him. The floor is quite hard. Then he noticed who was on top of him.
"Uh, Megan? Why did you tackle me?" His blush had appeared quite quickly...

"...oh, umm..." Megan shook her head to clear her thoughts, then said, almost stuttering for some reason: "there was a fireball headed your way, and you weren't moving, so I kinda tackled you out of the way..."
Now she was a little red too. I wonder why...

Ryo noticed another fireball headed this way. Giratina really wanted to kill them today. Ryo took the initiative and rolled himself and Megan a few feet to his left. He was on top now, and blushing harder than ever.
"I would've told you, but that fireball was moving way too fast..." He trailed off, leaving a awkward silence in the seconds that passed.

Megan, blushing furiously from being so close to Ryo for so long, decided to fix this situation. 
"It would probably be easier to dodge stuff if we were standing..." She also trailed off, but Ryo jumped off of her a few seconds later.

Phenna interrupted the "silence". "Hey! You two gonna help me or what?" She was currently running up what appeared to be a waterfall of rocks. She was also dodging Giratina's veritable arsenal of attacks, with the two of them only a few meters apart.

Megan and Ryo ran, Megan still carrying the Minun, toward Phenna, with Megan yelling:
"How do we help? This guy can't really fight," She pointed at Ryo with her thumb. "and I'm missing a limb!" 

Phenna ran under Giratina, just avoiding one of Giratina's attempts to impale her. "Just distract Goldie for a bit! I'll do the fighting!"

"Alright." They split up, Megan running to the left side of Giratina, Ryo to the right.

Megan put down the Minun and began picking up smaller rocks. After she had gathered an armful of pebbles, Megan started throwing them at Giratina.  Her plan was simple, and it worked. 

Meanwhile, Ryo was doing his best to put a light show with his electrical sparks. Sending them this way and that, it was almost like a fireworks show. He was also successful.

Giratina may be huge, destructive, and powerful, but fighting three fights at once is no simple task. Eventually they were able to take turns, one distracting Giratina and the other resting. Eventually, Phenna decided that Giratina was tired enough and moved out to strike. 

A wildly flailing tentacle nearly split Phenna in two, but she dodged and Giratina was still distracted by Ryo. Phenna leapt from the floor onto Giratina's back. She then ran toward Giratina's neck, and when she got there, ran up it.

Giratina took little notice until Phenna tripped on an armor plate and was forced to use her gauntlet to grab hold of Giratina, tearing skin in the process. 
"WROARRR!!!" Giratina's tentacles immediately attempted to remove Phenna by moving down her armored neck in a sweeping fashion, almost how you would wipe dust from your own arm. Phenna hid next to an armor plate, and was able to avoid detection. 

She continued up Giratina's neck, and when she reached the top, she swung down in front of Giratina's face. Too bad Giratina didn't notice before.

Before Giratina could properly react, Phenna swiped at the left side of her face, injuring an eye. Another "WROARRR!!!" followed, but Phenna was much closer this time, and the extreme loudness stunned her, leaving her senseless for a few seconds. She lost her grip on Giratina's armor and fell. She realized what was happening, and used her gauntlet to slow the fall. She stuck the gauntlet in Giratina's chest, the inertia from the fall pulled the gauntlet down Giratina's front, leaving three long gashes. She pushed off of Giratina and ran toward Ryo.

"That was cool! How did you do that?" Ryo was amazed at her fighting ability.

"Doesn't matter. We need to get everyone and decide a new plan, Goldie recovers quickly." Phenna knew that more had to be done. "Just meet with me over by  that pile of boulders over there." She pointed toward a pile of boulders near the wall.

"Alright." Ryo ran over to get Megan and noticed that Giratina was having trouble adjusting to only having one eye. "Hmmm..." That might be something to mention later. As he neared Megan he noticed that she was sitting. "Are you that tired?" 

"No. Now let's move; where are we going?" She jumped down from her seat and began running towards Ryo. 

"Towards that pile of rocks!" He gestured toward said pile of rocks and began running.

"Alright! Let's go!"

And they went.
